Last week, we learned that a pro-coal lobbying firm sent several forged letters to Congress that expressed opposition to clean energy legislation -- purportedly from minority groups, including the NAACP. We also learned that they would have continued sending these letters if they had not been caught. These shameful tactics prove that the opposition is willing to do whatever it takes to keep our country from transitioning to a new clean energy economy.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As part of its National Mobilization Weekend, the Alliance for Climate Protection’s Repower America campaign fanned out across the country, going door to door in 20 states to educate the public about the benefits of transitioning to a clean energy economy. Members and volunteers knocked on more than 12,000 doors in every region of the country, talking to neighbors about how transitioning to a clean energy economy will create millions of new jobs and help solve the climate crisis.
