The old ways of Washington have gotten us into enough trouble. That’s why it’s so refreshing when an elected leader takes a real stand against them.
Opponents in the Senate are already planning to play politics with clean energy, using procedural games to prevent a majority of Senators from passing clean energy and climate legislation.
But Senator Arlen Specter has called for an end to these petty tactics by announcing his support for cloture — a motion that, if it passes, will require a full vote in the Senate as quickly as possible.
Specter recently reaffirmed his support for strong clean energy legislation. This announcement shows that he is ready to go.
Can you call Sen. Specter and thank him for taking a stand?
- Philadelphia office: (215) 597-7200
- Pittsburgh office: (412) 644-3400
When connected to his office, let them know you’re a constituent and voter, and say: “I wanted to thank Senator Specter for supporting clean energy. I hope that he continues to support passage of comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation this year.”
Then report back and let us know how the call went: http://act.repoweramerica.org/page/s/specterreport
If our leaders are going to take bold action on clean energy legislation, they need to know we’ve got their backs.
Please call Senator Specter and let him know you appreciate his stand.
