- With comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation, we could create as many as 29,000 jobs in Missouri and save households up to $892 per year.
- Missouri’s wind energy industry is growing. Missouri has about 300 megawatts of installed wind capacity and about 150 megawatts under construction. Altogether, that’s enough to power more than 290,000 Missouri homes.
- In 2008, Missouri became the third state in the nation to have voters pass renewable portfolio standards. Two-thirds of Missouri voters supported a constitutional amendment requiring investor-owned utilities to obtain at least 15% of their electricity from renewable resources by 2021.
- The city of Rock Port produces 123% of its electricity needs with wind power, making it the first U.S. city to generate more wind power than it uses.
