Washington, D.C. – The Alliance for Climate Protection today issued the following statement from President and CEO Maggie L. Fox on the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day:
“Earth Day is always a time for celebration – but for the rest of the year, it’s the everyday actions of ordinary people that will make a difference. It’s the parents teaching their children to turn off the lights, it’s the construction workers making old buildings more efficient, it’s the business owner who builds a new wind farm. People from all walks of life are working to curb carbon pollution and make our country more energy independent.
This year our call to action is for our leaders to join this clean energy revolution – a revolution that everyday citizens have already begun. It is time for our elected officials to lead us to a new clean energy future.”
