The Alliance for Climate Protection officially opened its Repower New Mexico statewide office in Albuquerque to serve as a base for its staff and growing membership across the state, according to a press release from the group. According to its website, the Alliance has embarked on a national campaign to persuade the American people — and people elsewhere in the world — of the importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis. It hopes to do that by undertaking what it calls “an unprecedented mass persuasion exercise based on scientific facts.” That was the context for opening the Repower New Mexico statewide office at 3810 B Central Ave. SE in Albuquerque on Thursday. The group hopes the office will function as a “hub to educate fellow New Mexicans about solutions to the climate crisis that can create millions of new jobs, and hasten our economic recovery,” according to the release.
