In two days, we’ll celebrate the 40th Earth Day. And I’m excited to say that America has never been closer to passing comprehensive climate and energy legislation.
President Obama just stressed the urgent need for such a bill, telling the media it’s one of his “foundational priorities” that “has to be done soon.”1 And with several key Senators working across the aisle to write a Senate bill that builds on the House bill passed last summer, we may just be poised for a breakthrough.2
Today we’re at a crossroads. If our leaders are going to choose the right direction, it will only be because together we keep up maximum pressure until the strongest possible bill has passed. That’s why we’re launching the Earth Day Revolution calling campaign — and demanding with one loud and undeniable voice that our elected officials take action now.
In many ways, it’s no exaggeration to say that 40 years of Earth Days all come down to what we do in the next few months.
Since last year, we’ve made great strides despite the fierce efforts of the fossil fuel lobbyists. We passed a bill in the House of Representatives and built the urgency for the Senate to take action this year.
We are so very close. In fact, our sources on Capitol Hill are reporting there’s a real chance we can pass strong clean energy and climate legislation this summer. Taking on climate change and embracing energy independence through clean, renewable energy — that’d be a heck of a way to celebrate Independence Day.
But right now, nothing is certain — and our job is to do everything to make sure our Senators stand up to the corporate polluter lobby to pass the strongest possible clean energy and climate bill.

If we all make our voices heard, success is within reach.
If not, we could lose this opportunity — and with every year we wait, preventing catastrophic climate change and weaning ourselves off of fossil fuels only gets harder.
It’s time to get this done and move America forward.

You folks really need to get a real job. You want to help the Earth, you want to help people. Do like real humans do, come up with an idea that enhances a person’s standard of living and sell it to them for a competitive price. Don’t work on taking it away from them by taxing their wages, spending or the companies they own and work for. That is what destroyers do. Stop riding in the wagon and shipping those who are pulling it. Get out of the wagon start pulling, like real responsible humans do.

Cap and trade is a lousy way to stop pollution and that is not creating clean energy, its just more taxes. The oil companies have the rights to lithium batteries and a whole lot more and are part of the problem. Another is one Dept of Energy ! 20 years and 20 elite labs working with 100s of thousands of people and millions of dollars and nothing! Not one gallon of gas saved. Do you know why? This is typical of the way our government is heading but I believe American citizens have awoken to the power schemes and devices used by these evil crooked people. I will never be enslaved by those seeking to destroy our constitution and the principle this once great country was formed. Those who seek to destroy the American dream will fail, because there are many who will proclaim, “Give me LIBERTY or give me DEATH!
I believe that God will prevail, time is short, and all these evil doers will perish, or will return to the slime pits under the rocks from where they came from. Vote Ron Paul, and then lets protect him because these evil elites will try to kill him, because when a snake is cornered, he will strike!
When the call is given by the Patriots, I will answer that call, I eagerly wait for that call!
