A message from Ben Famous, Field Organizer for the Climate Protection Action Fund’s Repower America campaign
In my job as a grassroots organizer for Repower America here in Ohio, I know just how many everyday Americans want a switch to clean energy and the jobs it will bring our workers — and how important it is for us to make sure our elected leaders hear those voices.
That’s why I’m so inspired to hear that in just 24 hours, we’ve blown past our ambitious goal of over 20,000 calls for the whole week — with more than 21,000 of us nationwide calling our Senators yesterday.
But we need to keep the pressure on all the way through our Thursday deadline! To reach our new goal of 50,000 calls, we’re depending on people like you to step up and call your Senator now — and when you’re done, make sure your call counts by clicking here to report it.
Just call our easy-to-use, toll-free Repower America hotline at 1-877-9-REPOWER (1-877-9-737-6937) and enter your zip code. You’ll be connected directly to one of your Senators.
Call now: 1-877-9-737-6937
Once you’re connected, remember to tell the staff member you’re speaking to that:
- You’re a constituent
- You want your Senators to pass strong clean energy and climate legislation this year
- You want a strong bill that invests in clean energy, creates millions of jobs and sets a limit on harmful carbon pollution from all sectors of our economy
And don’t forget to report your call here, so we can count it towards our new goal of 50,000 calls this week!
Last night, when we kicked off this week’s massive call-in campaign with a phone bank in Columbus, the energy in the room was amazing — dozens of Repower America supporters like you came and made thousands of calls, asking Ohio constituents to call our Senators and demand the strongest possible Senate clean energy and climate bill. Please, join them and call your Senators now!
Thanks for your commitment to our clean energy future. Let’s keep it going until that future becomes our reality.

I just called Lautenberg and Menendez. I left a long message on Lautenberg’s phone but Menendez box was full so I could’nt leave one.
I hope everyone calls!
hey —- i called my ny senators, but when i tried to log those calls with you guys, the link was not operative. but you should count those calls!
I called my SC Sens- Graham and Demint. Tried to log the calls with you all and it did not work. Count my calls though! I spoke with a policy person at each office- they were nice and said they would “let the Senator know” – they took down my info too.
Years ago I wrote A BOOK [AnotherWayToGetThere] that deals with the worst pollution in the world — the car. I feel politicians are scared to tackle the topic, much less try funding anything new [although money was spent on it in the 1960s]. Now, however, the situation is becoming desperate so the ‘Amcar’ ddescribed in the book could be a WORLD (LIFE?) SAVER.
