What is Repower America?

Launched in 2008 in a pioneering speech by former Vice President Al Gore, Repower America is a bold campaign for a transition to clean, renewable energy in order to solve the climate crisis.

Repower America is anchored in the reality that pollution from dirty fossil fuels is warming our climate, and the way to reduce this pollution is to build a clean energy future here at home. When we power America with clean, renewable energy, we can grow our economy, strengthen our national security and create millions of new jobs.

We have everything we need to make a transition to clean energy: the technology, the know-how, and an abundance of clean energy resources across all 50 states. We can harness those resources by investing in energy efficiency, renewable energy, clean car technology, and an updated electricity grid that makes clean energy an option for every part of the country.
